Exactly how we protect you

What we wanted to hear back then

Being gay is okay.

Having HIV is okay.

Meeting people who do not understand is okay too — everyone moves at their own pace.

What matters is realising it, and setting off down your own road of self-love. That road is what lets you keep the kindness in you, instead of going dark and letting life grind you down.

It looks like the end of everything when you are young and shut out of life. Then you blink and you are ten years older, in your own home, next to the person you love. And it is good. It is good because one day you decided to stay.

Why we exist at all

  • Because it was unbearably hard to work out what PrEP is and where to get it.
  • Because nobody told us that on treatment HIV becomes untransmittable, and that life carries on.
  • Because the information that does exist is scattered across websites from 2008 that barely open and read like an EU grant report.
  • Because everyone deserves to find the answer in five minutes, not five years.
